Hotel Domestique Art Deco Inspired Fall Wedding in Traveler's Rest, SC, Anatoliy and Briana

 Destination Wedding Photography

Anatoliy and Briana are high school sweethearts and couldn’t be a more perfect match! Anatoliy is laidback while Briana is a planner. These two have been through thick and thin together, creating a special bond you don’t often see, especially at the start of a marriage.

Anatoliy proposed last Christmas at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. Briana wanted Christmas photos taken under the lights at the Biltmore Estate, a location she found magical. Little did she know Antaoliy was planning a fairytale proposal. You can read more about the proposal and see photos on How They Asked by The Knot.

For the wedding day, Briana wanted the style and design to feel intimate and comfortable for their guests. She envisioned a mixed style of boho and Art Deco. Her dress inspiration came from the Art Deco period, but she added sleeves to the Justin Alexander wedding dress to create more of a boho look. Variations of purple velvet were used throughout the day to bring fall accents to the intimate wedding day.

About the Location - Hotel Domestique

Nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Travelers Rest, SC, Hotel Domestique is a hidden gem and pleasant surprise. Upon entering the grounds of Hotel Domestique, you feel as if you’re stepping back in time! The design of this lovely wedding venue makes you feel like you’re in another country, allowing guests and the couple to escape for a little while.

That is exactly what Briana and Antaoliy envisioned for their fall wedding day. Whether you are hosting a small intimate wedding or a larger, traditional wedding, the venue has superb customer service with accommodations to host groups of all sizes. You can even rent out the hotel for the weekend, allowing the bridal party, family and guests to stay onsite. In fact, I kept asking myself if I was in Europe! I cannot say enough good things about this venue!

Tips for Planning the Perfect Fall Wedding

Fall is a beautiful time to plan a wedding. As the days start to shorten and the leaves begin to change, fall offers the perfect backdrop for wedding photos. For fall weddings, the key is to ensure you have a backup plan for unexpected weather. Even in locations with typically warm falls, like South Carolina, the temperatures may drop!

Also, for fall weddings, plan time during the daylight hours to capture outdoor photos. The right lighting enhances the wedding photos factoring in lighting is key. When I work with clients, I help guide their day to capture the best lighting. However, regardless of the time of day or lighting for the ceremony and reception, I have the experience to capture your special moments!

If you love the style of this bohemian wedding, consider how the autumn months enhance the boho wedding vibe. In fact, I’ve worked with several clients to explore a variety of bohemian wedding ideas. The foundation for any wedding starts with building the day to reflect you and your partner.

Below are some words from Briana about working with me:

“Nicole was so amazing to work with! As I have worked with a lot of photographers because I am in the modeling industry, I wanted to make sure whoever I chose as my wedding photographer really understood what I wanted out of my wedding day, and that we connected. Nicole was so organized from the first time we talked about the wedding down to the day of the wedding. She was consistent through the whole process, and made us very comfortable. And the pictures were amazing! She truly captured the emotions of the day, and as we looked back on our album we got to see so many little moments you often forget on your wedding. I truly believe that Nicole was not only our wedding photographer, but now a friend as well.”
